Scene by Scene
Opening — Song 1: “We Are Traveling” The full cast introduces the story: four travelers setting out together to explore the beauty the world has to offer.
Summer — Song 2: “Wait, Wait, Wait!” The First Traveler arrives in summer, hungry and thirsty, and finds a tree full of unripe apples. She learns she can’t rush the fruit — she has to wait. The chorus turns this into a lesson on patience.
Fall — Song 3: “Generosity” The Second Traveler arrives in autumn and finds the same tree loaded with ripe apples. Rather than keep them all, he bakes pies and shares with friends and family — introducing the theme of generosity.
Winter — Song 4: “It’s Wintertime” The Third Traveler arrives in winter and, finding the tree bare, decides to chop it down for firewood. The Second Traveler stops him, explaining the tree isn’t dead — it’s sleeping, and new buds are already on the way. The scene teaches that stillness and rest are part of the natural cycle, not an ending.
Spring — Song 5: “Let’s Go Play” The Fourth Traveler arrives in spring to blossoms, bluebells, and birdsong, and wants to stay in this moment forever.
The Reunion — Song 6: “Enjoy Every Season” All four travelers meet and realize they each experienced the same tree — just in different seasons. The First and Third Travelers gently warn the Fourth that spring won’t last forever (the heat is coming, the tree will need patience again). Together they realize the tree’s constant changes are exactly what make it wonderful, and that every season — not just their favorite — deserves to be enjoyed.
Closing The full cast delivers the final message together: all four seasons are worth celebrating, no matter the weather.
